I am largely inspired by my love of nature. As a keen mountaineer and paraglider pilot it is the shapes and textures I stumble across on the way that bring me the most pleasure. Most of my ranges and exhibition pieces are also borne out of my involvement with Manchester Jewellers Network. Responding to themes and concepts for group exhibitions gives me the opportunity to develop new ideas. I feast of the conceptual aspect first and the visual form follows.
I originate from Solihull in the West Midlands and studied Educational Media Design at Manchester Metropolitan University. I later studied Jewellery Design at City College Manchester in the early nineties. 21 years later I am still in Manchester and now consider myself a northern lass.
My business has included work as a freelance model maker to the advertising, animation, TV and media industries. Now focusing purely on jewellery my work includes gallery ranges, commissions and one-off conceptual exhibition pieces.
I run my business alongside my teaching post as Course Leader of the BTEC National Diploma in Jewellery at The Manchester College.
