
Melissa Hansom has been designing and making contemporary handmade jewellery since graduating from her degree in Design:Crafts in 2003. Her work consists of jewellery using contrasting combinations of colour and texture, which are achieved by the use of different metals, oxidization, resin and etching.
Her jewellery ranges focus mainly on her love and fascination with geometric shapes and patterns, Melissa uses techniques such as hand doming, hammering, pressing and forming and then combines the forms with brightly coloured resins, etching of animal prints or by setting stones in order to give the wearer a feeling of uniqueness and to make each piece individual.
Melissa works on a commission basis as well as supplying to various outlets and partaking in exhibitions.
