Manchester Jewellers Network was set up by Eve Redmond and Jo Bloxhom in winter 2002. We are a regional group of the Association for Contemporary Jewellery (ACJ). The group has 20 members so far and is growing steadily. We are all professional jewellers resident in the North West of England. We meet once a month to network, lend mutual support and to plan new initiatives, which will be regularly posted on this website.
Through exhibitions we shall develop the profiles of designers in the region and raise awareness regarding handmade work currently available to commission and buy. The group represents an opportunity for designers to promote work in a broad range of materials such as gold, silver, rubber, perspex, plastic, nylon, resin and wood.
Rather than functioning as a commercial association, the MJN is primarily concerned with the promotion of exciting and innovative contemporary jewellery. To these ends, each group exhibition features exclusive new designs from each contributing member. We aim to exhibit in outlets accessible to culturally diverse audiences and to open up new venues for the display of our work both nationally and internationally.
